Global Gathering on Bike Buses
Bike Bus Summit 2026 is the international gathering that fully dedicates to the growing movement of “bike buses” — groups of children cycling to school together, guided by trained marshals.
On 29-30 April 2026, Lisbon will host educators, city officials, researchers, community leaders, parents, and advocates from around the world to exchange knowledge, tools, and inspiration on safe, fun, and sustainable school mobility.
With keynote talks, practical workshops, networking sessions, and live bike bus demonstrations in the city, the Summit will showcase how this grassroots initiative is transforming the daily journey to school into a healthier, more joyful, and climate-friendly practice.

Bike Bus Summit 2023-2025
Barcelona 2023
On the 30th of March 2023, Bike Bus leaders and other stakeholders gathered at the Bike Bus Summit 2023 to define a global vision for bike buses and develop community resources.
The outcome was the Barcelona Declaration, a call to action that reflects the commitment towards active transport across the world. The event was hosted by Bicibus.
Frankfurt 2024
Bicibus.de hosted the second edition of the Bike Bus Summit on the 27th of June, gathering various initiatives from seven countries and featuring new participants. The event showcased the widespread adoption of bike buses in Germany and different countries presented their bike bus models.
Worcester 2025
April 10-11 marked the third Bike Bus Summit, a great success hosted by Bike Worcester that raised the bar for all future event organisers. Two days packed with keynotes, workshops and rides that proved the Bike Bus movement is continuing to grow and thrive.
